M3DLoC activities to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic mentioned in the EC website

The activities the M3DLoC Project is doing to address the needs during this pandemic, especially their rapid response to address critical shortages in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for hospitals in Greece, have been mentioned in the EC coronavirus webpage, following this link.

M3DLoC will be present at JEC World – 09-11 March 2021

M3DLoC Partner NTUA (R-NanoLab) will be an exhibitor in JEC World, the largest composites-focused trade show, JEC World 2021 held on 9-11 March 2021 at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre in Paris, France.

The National Technical University of Athens establishes a 3D printing hub to fight the pandemic

The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), one of M3DLoC Partners, has established the 3DP-NTUA Hub, to work on the preparation of face shields and other consumables, in order to support the healthcare workers in Greece, in collaboration with dedicated Covid-19 Hospitals, during the difficult fight against the pandemic. M3DLoC Project Open Day 2020 Workshop & Exhibition

The M3DLoC Project had its 1st Open Day Workshop & Exhibition on the 23rd January 2020, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Brussels, Belgium. The aim of this workshop was to bring together experts, developers and end-users, to discuss exciting new developments in the project and in the field of microfluidic biomedical devices, development of 3D printing equipment and use of nanomaterials such as graphene for 3D printing applications. The workshop was a unique occasion for networking, related EC project clustering and enhancement of exploitation opportunities.
Senior members coming from leading bio-medical organisations participated in the M3DLoC Open Day 2020 Workshop and Exhibition, such as: GSK, GE Healthcare (Whatman), Viscofan, Fluigent, Keralty among others.

M3DLoC Project Meeting – 22 January 2020, Brussels, Belgium.

The M3DLoC Project had its 24-month review meeting on the 22nd of January 2020, at the Research and Innovation Directorate in the European Commission in Brussels. 34 participants from the 18 Partner organisations, along with Project Officer, Dr George Kosikos, attended this meeting.

Partners gave an overview of the achieved results in each work package and showed their presentations for the Project Open Day the next day, for approval from the consortium.

M3DLoC present at the Advanced Materials for Additive Manufacturing (AMAM) meeting – Cambridge, UK

M3DLoC was present at the Advanced Materials for Additive Manufacturing –AMAM– consortium meeting (joined to the Nano-Carbon Enhanced Materials –NCEM- consortium meeting) on the 10th and 11th July 2019 at Wolfson College, Cambridge.

This consortium is run by Cambridge Nanomaterials Technology Ltd, one of the M3DLoC partners who is in charge of Exploitation and Dissemination. The aim of this consortium is to provide their members a unique insight into use of advanced materials in additive manufacturing, development of additive manufacturing technologies for various applications, and to facilitate the commercial uptake and bring together potential users with a shared interest to address commercialisation challenges.

Project Coordinator, Professor Costas A. Charitidis from NTUA and Dr Elias P. Koumoulos from IRES gave talks at this meeting. The M3DLoC poster and leaflets were also at display during the event.

M3DLoC Project Meeting –4-5 July 2019, Limerick, Ireland.

University of Limerick (UL) hosted the M18 meeting of the M3DLoC project on the 4th and 5th July, with delegates from all 18 partners organisations attending. This was an opportunity for the M3DLoC partners to meet the new Project Officer (Dr George Kosikos) and Project Monitor (Dr Maddalena Rostagno).

Joanneum Research Health was welcomed as the new partner for the project. Dr Hajnsek presented an overview of  the work carried out by the Institute and their relevance to the project. All participants also had the opportunity to visit the bio and materials labs at the University.

After a long day where partners gave an overview of the achieved results in each work package, delegates were invited to a dinner at the Limerick Strand Hotel hosted by University of Limerick.
