CICECO-Aveiro Institute of Materials, Portugal, has a Software Engineer opening within the scope of the M3DLoC pilot-line project. As one of the project consortium partners, we are developing a novel in-line imaging system to provide a high spatial resolution for inspection of parts in fabrication. The system is based on a scanning probe imaging. The task of the Software Engineer will be development and implementation of the control software, automation, and integration of the scanning probe imager into the processing line. This work will also require development and implementation of algorithms of signal and image acquisition and processing, as well as of interaction of various motion and measurement tools.
Requirements to the candidate: a BS/MS/PhD degree in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or in any closely related field, at least 5-year experience in software development for motion, test and measurement automation. Experience with scanning-probe measurements, low-level signal measurements, microwave measurements, and CAD design are desirable but not necessary. Excellent command in English is necessary for efficient interaction with the project consortium partners, which will be a significant part of the work. The contract will be initially for 12 months with a possibility of extension up to the completion of the project in December 2021 based on mutual interest. The salary is 44,600 Euro per annum before taxes.
